LUNAR HALO

See that ring around the moon?  It's a lunar halo (says Wikipedia).  It's caused by the refraction of moonlight from ice crystals in the upper atmosphere.  This is the second one we've seen since we moved out here (we didn't have a camera handy the first time).  Pretty fancy, right?

Folklore says that lunar halos predict severe weather.  We could use some rain, I suppose.
